General Questions

What ages of children do you photograph?
We specialize in kids ages 4–12, but if your little birdie is just outside that range, reach out and let’s chat!

Where do the sessions take place — studio, outdoors, or at our home?
Little Birdie Studios partners with local businesses to house our unique backdrops, and we also offer in-home sessions if you’d like photos in your family’s favorite space.

How long does a session usually last?
Our sessions are booked for about an hour. The first 15–20 minutes are all about getting comfortable — chatting, exploring, and letting your child warm up — so the real magic happens once they’re relaxed and being themselves.

What should we wear for the photos? Do you help with styling?
We’ll recommend colors that work best with the set or location, and we’re always happy to help with styling tips. Think comfortable, simple, and fun — we want your child to feel like themselves!

Can siblings and parents be included in the session?
Of course! If everyone is excited to hop in, we’ll capture those moments. We just recommend keeping the “audience” small so your kids feel free to shine.

Booking & Payment

How far in advance should I book my session?
Our dates fill quickly, so the earlier you book, the better! As soon as you know what you’d like, grab your spot.

Do you require a deposit to book?
Yes — we ask for a 100% deposit to secure your session.

What happens if I need to reschedule or my child is sick?
Kids get sniffles — it happens! If your child isn’t feeling their best, please stay home. We’ll happily work with you to reschedule within two weeks of your original date. After two weeks, we will require an additional deposit to book a new date.

Do you offer packages or just individual sessions?
Right now, we offer individual sessions only — but we’re always dreaming up new ways to serve our families, so stay tuned!

What is included in the session fee?
Your session fee includes your photo time, editing, and a private online gallery where you can view and purchase images and products.

Refunds?
As a small business, we begin working as soon as you book your session. Therefore, we do not offer refunds.

During the Session

What if my child doesn’t cooperate or is shy?
Don’t worry — it’s totally normal! We keep sessions light, playful, and flexible. Sometimes a shy moment leads to the sweetest, most genuine photos. The “warm-up” time we include standard with our sessions allows your child a chance to take in and get used to the atmosphere before we start clicking the shutter!

Can we bring props, toys, or special items?
Absolutely! A favorite stuffed animal, a beloved toy, or even your child’s artwork can make photos extra meaningful. Some of our sessions are designed just for that!

Do you provide outfits or should we bring our own?
We ask families to bring their own outfits — that way your child feels comfortable and true to themselves. Please have any clothing ironed and free from stains unless you want to memorialize them forever (standard retouching is included, however photoshop is not a great replacement for an iron).

After the Session

How long will it take to receive our photos?
Your edited gallery will be ready within 5 business days — delivered straight to your inbox!

Do you offer prints, albums, or digital files? How do we order them?
Yes! Your gallery is hosted on Pixieset, where you can order prints, albums, wall art, or digital files — everything from keepsakes for grandparents to statement pieces for your home.
